SOFFITS AND GABLE END

SHEATHING, ETC.

10/9/08 - With the help of a couple of Jim Knight's crew (Bob and Pete), work began on constructing the soffits on the east and west sides of the building.

Bob and Sam Stickney, Gene Knox, and Tom Reed finish

up the east side soffit while Jim's men work on the west side.

Before the soffits could be installed on the gable ends, the sheathing

needed to be put on. Bob, Gene, and Tom get the staging

set up along the north wall to prepare for the job

Many hands make light work and another panel goes up!
By 2:30, the last piece of sheathing was in place on the north wall.
10/10/08 - The soffit on the north gable end is installed.
Working on the sunny south side, Sam, Bob, and Gene get the pieces ready ...
... for Bob McPherson to put in placeon the north wall soffit.
10/11/08 - It was a chilly Saturday morning when the Russell family arrived at the groomer garage around 9:30 a.m.  With their help, the west, north, and east walls were wrapped with Typar.
Lisa, Richard, and Ron Russell staple the Typar to the west wall sheathing ...
... while Ronnie Russell and Bob Stickney cut the Typar.
By 12 noon, they finished up the east wall.  Great work, Russell Family!

10/13/08 - Work begins on sheathing the south gable end.
Sam and Bob Stickney, and Ron Russell begin the work.  If you look closely, you'll see Gene Knox up inside the building working on bracing the roof trusses.
On the ground, Ron and Gene get the pieces cut ...
... and Bob and Sam put them in place up above.

John Blais (far right) came to

help after he got out of work.

Sam, Bob, and Ron are up above,

and Gene and John are on the

ground, while Tony Poirier looks on.

10/14/08 - All but the very peak of the south gable end was sheathed by the end of the day on the 13th.  The next day, Bob and Pete, from Jim Knight's construction crew, came to help finish sheathing the remainder of the south gable end.
Sam passes up the last piece of sheathing to complete the south gable end.
