SITE PREPARATION

June, July, and August 2008

The rainy weather this summer made it difficult to get the building site cleared.  If we waited for dry weather, it might never have happened!

So rain or shine, the guys have been out there getting the job done.  In the photo to the right, Fern Dumoulin was getting the chainsaw ready for work.

Left:  Bob Stickney and Gene Knox

felled one of the many large pasture

pines on the lot.

Dany Anctil (on the pulp truck) and his helper Blaine Virgin (using the chain saw on the left) came on several occasions.  Their help was a big boost!  Dany basically charged for the cost of his fuel and his helper.  Thanks Dany!

Blaine limbed logs ..... and Dany loaded them onto his pulp truck.

Slowly but surely, the guys made headway.

Above is how the site looked on August 8, 2008.

Gene used his ATV and Fern's arch to twitch out some of the trees.

Bob and Louise's trailer came in handy for hauling off the brush.

On 8/13/08, Bob Richard volunteered his time, equipment, and fuel to pull all the stumps on the building site and finish taking down the last few trees.  Thanks Bob!

Another one down ...
... and another one down ...
and another one bites the dust!

Harry Powers helped limb out

the felled trees.

Bob Richard used his excavator to

pull out the stumps.

By the end of the day there were two

big piles of stumps ...

... and the building site looked like this.

On 8/14/08, the stumps were hauled away.

Dany Anctil took several loads with

his dump truck and  his pulp truck ...

... and Bob Richard took

a load on his pulp truck.

Also, on 8/14/08, Bob Richard brought his bulldozer to push the loam off the building site.

Gene Knox helped Bob Stickney take elevation readings.

When Bob Richard finished removing the loam with the bulldozer, he used his excavator to pile the loam up.  This loam will be used to landscape after the building is completed.
