SHEATHING

October 1 & 2, 2008

10/1/08 - Ken MacFawn let us borrow his generator after Gene's gave up the ghost. (Thanks, Ken!) However, one of the battery cables had come loose.  Luckily for our Club, we've got a Mr. Fix-It in Ivan Arsenault!

Work got started around 10 o'clock and continued all day in spite of the constant drizzle.

Bob Stickney and Bob Milligan begin putting up the sheathing on the west

side of the building.

Louise Stickney uses a battery operated Paslode nailer to secure the sheathing.  Thanks go to Ken MacFawn for letting

us borrow this handy tool!

Bob and Bob are almost finished putting up the first row

of sheathing of the east side of the building.

Sam Stickney follows behind the two Bobs and nails the panels.
The second row of sheathing goes up.
There's the last row on the west side!
It's 5:30 and work is almost done for the day.
Only the end-walls are left to do!
10/2/08 - It's back to work to finish the sheathing.
Tom Reed demonstrates his slick rig for carrying panels.
Panels go up on the south wall ...
... and the north wall.

Work is almost done when a sudden shower sends

everyone to join the generator under the shelter!

The north end of the building ...
... and the south end of the building at the end of the day.

10/4/08 - There was no photographer on hand when the work was being done, but John Blais and Ron Russell erected the king post in preparation for putting up the roof trusses.

Thanks to Arthur Boivin for taking these aerial photographs

of the building just prior to putting on the roof trusses.
